French major player in the outdoor industry, our client has become a reference by supplying authentic, innovative and technologically advanced outdoor apparel, equipment and accessories. In a growth context, we are looking for a general manager to join its Dutch subsidiary.
Mission
Reporting to the International Director, he/she will manage and develop the company’s operations for the Branch subsidiary. According to the group strategy, the position has to build up an efficient organization, then define and set up strategic issues for the subsidiary and its brands. He/she will be responsible for the budget as well as profitability. He/she will be managing the entire country team – including sales & marketing (wholesales and retail), finance/administration and logistic persons.
Profil recherché
Prospective candidate should have about 10 years of experience, within fashion & apparel field, ideally within outdoor or sports brands. His/her background in a sales role as an export manager or a key account manager will be expected. He/she should be familiar with wholesalers and retailers in Netherlands. Hands-on, flexible and result oriented, the candidate should be able to act successfully as a challenger on a narrow market. The ultimate focus is on driving the growth revenue targets and business profitability. Strong leadership skills are also required – whilst there is an important ‘commercial’ and ‘strategic’ component to this role. Fluency in dutch and english is mandatory. French knowledge would be appreciated. An excellent knowledge of the outdoor industry will enable the general manager to succeed in this position.
